Horseback Riding in the Park
Description:
Certainly one of the most entertaining treats for any horse lover who spends a good deal of time in New York City is that routine ride along the intersecting bridle paths that circle Central Park. Built in 1892 the Claremont Riding Academy on the northeast corner of West 89th Street between Columbus Avenue and Amsterdam Avenue is the oldest operating stable in New York. Home to the many horses that walk the short distance to the Park it provides boarding facilities and courteous service for anyone who wants to keep their horse in New York for the purpose of riding in Central Park. Hourly rental ($50 an hour) as well as leasing terms are also available.
